MINISTRY OF WATER

The Ministry of Water, through the Division of Water Resources, is responsible for monitoring compliance with the safety aspects of water dams, tailing dams, and related infrastructures. The Dam Safety Unit supports the Division of Water Resources to ensure that dam owners and experts design, construct, operate, and rehabilitate dams according to the requirements set forth in the Water Resources Management Act, Dam Safety Regulations, Dam Safety Guidelines, and Dam Manual. The Director of Water Resources is responsible for the registration of water dams and tailing dams, the registration of Approved Professional Persons (APP), and the granting of Construction Permits as required by law.
