About The Annual Dam Safety Conference (ADSC)

Founded in 2023, the Annual Dam Safety Conference is a premier international gathering organized collaboratively by City Engineering Company Limited (CECL), Tanzania Chamber of Mines (TCM), and the Ministry of Water (MoW).

Our conference addresses critical challenges in establishing uniform safety standards for dam infrastructure. We create a forum for enhancing regulatory frameworks by identifying high-risk dam structures, developing comprehensive safety assessment methodologies, streamlining registration and permitting processes, and crafting specifications for Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) and dam design implementation.

Each conference features carefully selected themes determined by industry leaders. By uniting professionals across sectors, including standards specialists, dam operators, environmental managers, and regulatory officials, we facilitate knowledge exchange, champion industry best practices, and drive innovative dam safety solutions.

The conference strengthens partnerships between industry stakeholders, government regulators, and environmental specialists while advancing sustainable approaches to dam safety and environmental stewardship. With 150-200 attendees, it serves as a hub for sharing expertise, examining regulatory frameworks, and exploring cutting-edge technologies shaping the future of dam safety.

Through this initiative, we strive to make meaningful contributions to ongoing efforts to safeguard dam and tailings storage facility integrity, protecting communities, preserving environmental resources, and supporting responsible development throughout Tanzania and internationally.
